Would i be able to get into an optometry school w/ GPA 2.89?

I have graduated as a textiles major at a UC however i have decided i wanted to become an optometrist. i have to take pre-reqs since i have majored in a totally different field. Can i take pre-reqs at a community colleges where they have approved courses? also do i have a chance of getting into an optometry school with a GPA of 2.89?(science courses yet to be taken) Please give me advises on what to do. :( do optometry universities have minimum GPA limit like dental schools? (i believe dental schools look at you GPA ALOT)

most optometry and dental schools may list a 3.0 as a minimum, but hardly anyone gets in unless they have at least a 3.5 and score very highly on the entrance exams.
