COURSES TO TAKE TO BECOME A DOCTOR? PLEASE HELP!!! 10 points.?
-
Ok, I want to be a doctor after I graduate from high school. First of all, I have a very high GPA (grade point average) 3.9. I want to become a doctor after my graduation so I have a few questions. -What classes are required to become a doctor -How high of a GPA do you need to get accepted into UBC, how many volunteer hours, work experience other requirements? -Do I have a good chance of being a doctor if I have received 90% in Bioligy 12, Chemistry 12, Physics 12, Pre-calculus 12 and English 12? Thanks in advance for any answers

Answer:
Well, before you can go to any medical school you have to first go get a Bachelor's degree at an undergraduate school (any university). Unfortunately, a high GPA in high school won't matter much in medical school, but it's important in undergraduate school. Usually, any undergraduate school, but one that is in the same region as the med school you want to go to is advised. Once you have which school you want to go to figure out, contact the school for requirements as well as contact your medical school. You don't necessarily have to get a Bachelor's degree to get in med school, but it's recommended. Here's the list of classes you should usually take that med schools require: 1. biology (for a year) 2. general/inorganic chemistry (one year) 3. organic chemistry (one year) 4. physics (one yr.) 5. English (usually composition) (one yr.) 6. college mathematics (one semester-one yr.) 7. statistics 8. calculus 9. behavioral science (highly recommended) 10. psychology (recommended) 11. social sciences 12. humanities 13. analytical chemistry 14. physcial chemistry 15. foreign language (recommended) 16. physiology 17. genetics That's just a broad list of courses you should probably take during your undergraduate years. However, it varies from different medical schools, so check out admissions before you do anything. Having an A in sciences classes and Englis and Math will certainly come in handy be sure to become well-rounded by taking social sciences and humanities as well. I'm not sure the specifics at UBC, but check out the website or do some research. Becoming a doctor is a complicated thing, and I 've done tons of research because I'm determined to get into one as well. Make sure you check what precise courses you should take as a doctor of your specialization. Don't try to limit yourself and do research.

you'll need a 4 year bachelor's degree while taking the premed courses required by the medical schools you plan on applying to. They all vary a bit, but pretty much all include 2 semester chem, 2 sem bio, 2 sem organic chem, 2 sem physics then you take the mcat--a test then you apply to med schools and hope you get accepted then you do 4 years of medical school then you apply to residency programs then you spend 3-7 years in a residency program then you are a physician
You attend medical school after four years of college, that's IF you get accepted.
