How Do I Become A Pediatrician?

How do i become a pediatrician or dermatologist? help please :)?

• So i would like to become pediatrician or dermatologist. I am going to city college of San Francisco for 2 years then transfer. But i don't know what I am supposed to do after junior college. Please help and give me advice! :) thanks!

  Take med school prereqs (depends on med school, generally 2 semesters of general bio, chem, physics, 1 semester of organic chem, some require others like biochem, stats, calc, english etc.), score high on MCAT, get a high GPA, shadow doctors (different kinds), get clinical experience (volunteering or paid). Research is good. Have the experiences to back up why you want to be a doctor from volunteering and other ECs. Leadership ECs are wanted too. Write an awesome personal statement/essay/secondaries. Rock the interview. Go to med school for 4 years, take step 1 after year 2 and score extremely high (if you want to go into dermatology at least, peds is less competitive). Then do well on step 2 in your 4th year as well. Rock the interview again, but this time for residency. Spend ~4 years (for peds and derm) making $40 000 a year (aka minimum wage considering how many hours you'll be working) while paying off $200 000 in medical school debt, then do a fellowship (another couple of years) if you want to specialize further. All this is done by spending most of your time studying or working. Now you can make decent money in your 30s while still paying off your $200 000 of debt. Medicine isn't for the faint-hearted. You need to really want it, and for the right reasons. Sorry for the bad formatting and ramblings, I'm tired :P
