Is it worth of doing MBA after BE(CSE)?

Is a J.D/MBA worth the same as doing a Law Degree and an MBA independently?

  • Hey, I was considering do a bachelor degree in England and then an J.D/MBA at Columbia in New York...however doing so would mean I wouldn't have all my degrees till I was 25 or so. However I was wondering if I would get the same credit for doing Law (at a uni like Oxford or UCL) and then an MBA at London Business School to doing a J.D/MBA in the USA? Thanks :D

  • Answer:

Most JD/MBA programs cut out one year of classes. If done separately, a law degree takes 3 years and an MBA takes 2 years. When you do them together in a joint program, it usually only takes 4 years.

In general yes, in your situation no. Law in the US is a graduate degree only. There is no difference between a joint MBA/JD from an American school and completing the two degrees separately in the United States. However having a law degree from a university in the UK and a MBA from a US business school is not the same thing. A UK law degree will not allow you to practice in the US - you'll need additional classes at the very least before you can even sit for the bar exam. For law it is always best to get your degree in the country in which you wish to practice.

>"J.D/MBA" You think it's going to be that easy! LOL Why don't you first see if you can successfully complete your freshman year! Maybe you should consider some real world experience before trying to attend graduate school in any country!
