Which degree should I get?

I want to be an RD... which Associate Degree should I get?

  • Hi everyone, I'm currently 21 years old (just turned two months ago) and I have decided to change career paths. All of my life, I have wanted to be a teacher. There was a brief time where I wanted to pursue nursing, but I have decided neither of those things fit me anymore. When I think of being a teacher now, I almost feel "claustrophobic." I want a degree that will allow me to work in a number of different environments, and something I'm passionate about. I've decided to become an RD. I know it's not a cake walk. There is a lot of science involved, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. I didn't get stellar grades in high school. I had a C+ average, which would allow me to get into many colleges, but I wouldn't be able to get a lot of help financially. I have taken quite a few classes at my local community college that will go towards an AAS (Associate degree in arts and science -- direct transfer.) Should I continue with this Associate degree, or should I go for getting an Associate in general studies? Either way, I'll have to take quite a few classes when I transfer to a university. What do you think?
