Pre-payment of Medical deductible. How does this work?

How does going to medical school work with regular college?

  • I'm a junior in High school and for a while now I have been trying to figure out exactly how going to a regular college then to a medical school works. I want to become an OBGYN or pharmacist , but I don't know where to start exactly, no one has been very clear to me. How many years of regular college do you have to take before you can go to medical school? And what majors do you need to take? And how many years of Medical school do you have to go through?

  • Answer:

Most people go to regular college for four years before starting medical school. Medical school takes another four years. There are also some combined degree programs that permit students to finish both degrees in less than eight years. Your major does not matter much as long as you also take the premedical coursework required by the medical schools you might like to attend. You will have to take one year each of lecture and lab courses in general/inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and biology. You may also have to take other courses such as math (possibly calculus) and biochemistry. The route to becoming pharmacist is different. Most students take two years of pre-pharmacy courses followed by four years in pharmacy school to earn a D.Pharm. (six years total).
