A question about college & the SATs?

Am i on the right track to a good college?

  • i have started my freshman year and i have just ended my first semester. I have already taken algebra 1 and 2 in middle school and encounters with tech and business management last semester with A's. I am currently taking Honors Geometry, Honors literature, AP U.S. history, Honors Physical Science, Communications 1, and French 1 ( no honors available for French 1). I have a cumulative GPA of about 3.75. My strongest subjects are science and history. My sophomore year I will be taking Honors Pre-Calc, AP Bio, Honors English, and AP U.S history (two year course). My question is what kind of colleges do you think will be available to me if i stay consistent? How much will i have to improve to get into better colleges? What other courses should i take next year? How can i be ready for the acts/sats? What can i do to increase my chances to be accepted into a good college? ( I am also on the freshman basketball team and i will be running track as well.)

  • Answer:

You seem to be on a good track right now. You should have a good chance of getting into whatever school you wanted assuming you did well on your ACT and essay and stayed consistant grade wise. In order to be ready for the ACT make sure your reading is fast, you have basic math, can read graphs, and know proper grammar. Also the more extra curriculars the better

Wow! you're definitely on the right track. Colleges love to see lots of honors and AP classes (especially if you do good on the AP tests). I think that you'll be able to get in practically anywhere especially if your SAT/ACT score is really high as well. Keep taking AP and honors courses and take advantage of whatever your school has to offer. To get ready for the SAT/ACT i suggest getting a book or maybe ask for some practice drills from your english teacher. Be prepared some schools especiall ivy leagues require specific subject tests. To increase your chances right a kick *** essay that makes you stand out and get involved with your school/community as much as possible. GOOD LUCK! =)
