High School Grade Issues with College?

• I have a c+ in a single semester of precalculus from sophomore year and in the past semester of my junior year, i got a c+ in Calculus, which gives me an extra gpa point like an honors class, but i was wondering if even with all these c's if i can still get into all the ucs like berkeley, la, and davis, maybe even stanford. i have a pretty good gpa, like a 4.2 or 4.3 , but the c's in math are the only thing that brings me down. i also do lots of other extracurriculars and sports, and i got a 1930 on the sat and 30 on the act. do i still have decent chances of getting into the ucs and maybe stanford?

  Your ACT scores are low, and your SAT scores are very low, for a place like Stanford. You need to give us your unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale to determine how good your grades are, because that's what colleges use. They look at the number of honors and AP classes students took, but don't factor that into the grade calculation. Any C's for a year grade will probably knock you out of the running, but might be OK for a semester or quarterly grade, if you pull it up to an A by the end of the year. You still might get into one of the UC's, but probably not Berkeley, UCLA or UCSD. Don't even bother with Stanford, unless you have a rich uncle willing to build them a library, or you raise your SAT score by about 300 points.
