An upper post said that Ann arbor is in the northern part of Michigan. WRONG!!!! It is in the southern Lower peninsula. It doesn't "touch Canada" from the top in that area. Canada can be traveled to where it is accessed through Detroit to the East. I assume you have checked out the website: http://www.umich.edu/ The only way to find out if you could get in is to apply. It is extremely expensive to go to the Ann arbor campus. My daughter was accepted, but we could not afford to send her there. Michigan winters can get very long Gray and cold. Some parts of the winter, usually in Jan and Feb the temperatures can get down to 10 and even 20 degrees below zero with windchill. We get ice storms occasionally too, which are absolutely beautiful because it encapsulates every tree branch with sparkling ice, but is treacherous to drive in. Fall is spectacular. The temps are mild, and the fall colors on the trees varies from purple to vibrant red and blazing yellow. The worst part about SE Michigan weather is the lack of sunshine in the winter and into the spring. I read that we have just as many Gray cloudy days as Seattle , which is suppose to have the least amount of sun in the United states. The summers are great, usually temps in the high 80's sometimes even 90's. Spring brings out an explosion of flowering trees and plants and wonderful birds.

That's a very good GPA! I talked to a U Mich representative at my school college fair the other day, and I think you hair a good shot!! Just make sure to visit if you haven't already...the winters are HARSH..i mean it touches canada..ann arbor is on the northern part of Michigan. there are around 24000 undergrads here. I've also heard it is the Ivy Leaguer's backup..but that's just a negative comment that shoudl probably be disregarded. The premed is excellent there! you'll meet new people anywhere in college as long as you're outgoing or at least make an effort. Good luck with michigan! it's excellent

Yes, you could probably get in. You have straight A's, leadership, and an impressive SAT score, and this is a public state school (but a good one, no doubt, but still a public state school). The campus is open and rural. Out of staters will meet lots of people. Big school. You'll meet people from out out of state and in state, and the international students. You'll be around interesting people. The weather is, I'd say, seasonal. :) The winters can get VERY cold, the summers can get VERY hot. It changes by the season, cold winters, hot summers. Fall is beautiful up there. Leaves changing. get ready for the rain.

This is a joke, right?

Relax. You will for sure get into U of M. I'm from Michigan and they accept about 50 or so people from my school each year with waaaaay less credentials than you have.
