  • Answer:

I'd kill myself if I did all that and didn't get in. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA, several extra-curriculars, honors in Band and three extra-curriculars, and just two seasons of volunteering for a 4th grade Drum & Bugle corp. I was accepted into Duke when I applied, but unfortunately, I didn't end up there as some things happened. :(

Seriously, dude? If you don't get in, it's not going to be because of any factor you can control, even if you don't raise that SAT score (unless you're really weak in one area). Stop stressing about your odds and just focus on putting together the best application you can.

Duke: Percent of Applicants Admitted: 19% Avererage SAT Scores of those admitted: 2000 John Hopkins: Percent of Applicants Admitted: 22% Average SAT Scores of thos admitted: 1930 Stanford: Percent of Applicants Admitted: 7% Average SAT Scores of those admitted: 2040 Other requirments are an admission essay and a look at extra curriculars and community service as well as written reccomendations.

You have fantastic extracurriculars and i would say you have a good chance of getting accepted to at least Johns Hopkins and Duke, but Stanford is another story its widely known as one of the best universities not just in the U.S but in the world. Stanford receives applications from around the world and from thousands and thousands of applications only about 5-7% get accepted. In fact, last year Stanford received more applications than universities like Harvard/Princeton etc.. the popularity of Stanford is increasing even more as the time goes on making it harder and harder to get in. Last year Stanford became the dream school not just for students last year but for parents as well, according to the Princeton review list. (Stanford is the Harvard of the west). Good Luck

I myself would like to go to Stanford and Hopkins. But anyway, from all of that, i can tell you have a great passion for science and sports and you share it with your community. They would be stupid not not accept you. I would love to have all that in application
