What is the specific job of an occupational and industrial in nursing fields?

Can you get a AA in Nursing with a convicted misdemeanor in Texas?

  • I live in Texas and I was convicted of a misdemeanor 6 years ago (i was 19 and stupid). i got into s stupid fight with my mom, so it was assault bodily injury on a family member and im wanting to go back to school and finish my degree but it seems that my misdemeanor has held me back from really good jobs so im worried if i put my time effort and money into a nursing degree ill get turned down too. So can you get a job with a nursing degree with a convicted misdemeanor that was 6 years ago? and it cant be sealed or expunged:( if not, what other fields can I look into with this on my record? Thanks!

  • Answer:

In the off chance you manage to get into a program and graduate (which, by the way would be to lie, because no program will let you in with a assault charge) you will never get licensed to practice anywhere. The Board of Nursing would find out in the FBI background check, which is standard. Not sure what else you could do with a record of assault with bodily injury.

Other answers

You might not be able to. They do background checks on you before you start the nursing program (fingerprints and everything)

Healthcare programs always do background checks, I had one when I was getting my degree in dental assisting. If you want to know the answer to this question, you may have to speak to the program director at the school you'd like to attend.
