Ivy leagues don't just look at your GPA. join some clubs and make sure you have a great list of extracurriculars, excellent college essays, and great reviews from your teachers. It's really hard, and just know that if you don't get in, it isn't a reflection of you! I have a 4.3 GPA, am in 3 honors society, was in 9 shows, started a community service club raising over $10,000, and was in 2 physics clubs, a math club, Varsity swimming, an ELO program, a 5-week over the summer program, and 2 additional community service groups. I have over 100 hours of community service groups, and have performed songs at charity events and in numerous art performances at my high school. I doubt I will get into any Ivy League schools. Seriously, it's good to strive to get into one, but make it your reach school! Don't count on it! Look at other schools like UPenn, Cornell, Duke, and MIT that have great programs but not such a difficult admissions rate. What's importnat is to find the right college for you! I'd recommend going to collegeboard.com, creating a free account, and using the college matchmaker to find what fits you best! Best of luck to you! :)

So far you're fine. Stay in NHS and join a few more clubs. The colleges will like to see that you take an officer positions in some of the clubs. If you can pick a sport and play it for a few years, it'll show that you have commitment. 4.2 is a good GPA. IB will only increase it! :) yay! Do some extracurricular outside school and score well on your SAT's or ACT and you'll be fine! Ivy leagues will look at all of this but there is more. Senior year, make sure you get excellent letters of recommendation! When you write your personally statement try and stand out. My friends (who goes o Stanford) roommate wrote his personal statement about a banana... try to be ingenious and creative! hope this helps :)

You can't really tell you just finishing up 9th grade. Just keep on track, NHS is a good thing, and take those IB classes.

Colleges ask for unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale. You're basically competing against all the valedictorians in the world, and only 8% of them will get in. Right now, you're an average applicant at best - average GPA if you're lucky and nothing that makes you stand out.
