What are some reasons that someone should NOT attend an ivy league college?

The enormous cost.

1) They can be enormously expensive (a student who can get into an Ivy League school could likely get a very generous scholarship from a less selective school or attend a much cheaper state school.) 2) The whole 'go to the best school you can' meme is highly overrated--you can get a great education almost anywhere if you really dedicate yourself to it, and the reputation of the school does not necessarily equate to superior instructional ability on the part of the faculty. For example I did my undergrad at a not especially reputable state school in the US and got my masters at a VERY prestigeous school in the UK--and the faculty was better at the state school, hands down. 3) You don't like the New England/Mid Atlantic region.

Mostly cost, I guess! But some also may not want to go because they don't like the standard that ivy schools have, like ivy schools cast students as smart and others as not so much!! hope you get what I mean!! :)

You get lost in a sea of "ivy league kids". Being apart of this "elite" group can be detrimental to an individual who needs a more personalized education and cannot feel anything but inadequacy when achieving "grades".
