Will my school send out my transcript?

Does my high school send in my academic transcript to the college I will attend for me?

  • The question above: or will I have to send it in myself? I really believed that my counselors will do that for me, or am I mistaken? I recently recieved a announcement from my collge that I will soon attend that they have not yet recieved my transcript and that it is required and will be due soon. I'm worried. Do I wait or what do you suggest I do?

  • Answer:

Your high school counselor is not psychic. They do not know which college you are attending because you haven't told them. Go to the registrar's office and ask what you need to do in order to send your transcript to the college you are attending.

You have to tell your counselor which schools to send your transcript to two weeks in advance of the application deadline. It's very important to let your counselor know early.

Usually what most students do is give the administration office or your high school counselor a pre-paid envelope so they can mail it in for you. Most private high schools will handle that once you submit to them which high school you have chosen to attend this fall. But most public schools do require you to do this yourself. So you better get to your high school and ask them for an OFFICIAL copy of your final transcript and mail it into the college admissions office ASAP.

you send it yourself

call your counsellor ask them if they sent it, if they did dont worry... if they havent sent it yet, get it and send it asap
