Do colleges look at quarter grades?

What do colleges look at?

• do colleges only look at SAT scores or do they also look at overall quarter grades too? for some reason im not so good at taking SAT type tests but i do exceptionally well in school.......... im going into sophmore year and im getting a little nervous......... help?

  They look at SAT scores, High School Semester Grades, how much extracurricular activities or leadership positions you have had, how much you contribute to society such as community service, and your personal essays if you have to write any for the one your applying for. For some colleges, the personal essays can make a huge difference. If your SAT score and Grades are a little under the average of what the college wants, a great essay can convince the readers to grant you admission into it. So definitely be prepared to write an awesome essay!
