What is a better college choice?

College or Job? What's the better choice?

  • I'm in my 2nd semester of college and I just realized that college just isn't for me right now. I don't have have a major and I just don't know what I want to do with my life just yet. I was thinking of not signing up for next semester and getting a job instead hopefully full time and saving up money while still living at my parents house. Then when I have enough move out, get an apartment while still working full time. I want to get some real world experience. Also, when I am ready and I decided my major I can always go back. Is this a good idea? or what would you suggest? Thanks for all your help. Its appreciated.

    Most people who leave university never go back. You're capable of not doing that if you're determined, but be aware that once you're out of school it's hard to make yourself get back in.

It can work, but some never go back. The main thing is to leave on a high note, either finish or produce excellent grades in your last subjects. I had a relative who ruined her first chance, worked a few years then went back and successfully completed a work related degree. So it has been done before. Try to choose a degree with a career at the end of it, like medicine, psychology or nursing, then you can be eccentric, take time off when you like and always have a job waiting for you.

One more piece of advice... I wanted to go out and get a job make MONEY. So i quite school. I did plan on going back to school ( school i mean collage)... but guess what that was 1996, its now 2010... still not back in school. Sure I had a good job at the time.. and made the money and my friends were all broke. But by the time they got out of school wow boom they were making more then me.. buying new cars and houses. There I was... in a so so job couldn't get a promotion cuz i didn't have a degree. However now years later...I do have a good job.. it just took me 10+ years to get it...but guess what my friends still make more.... I don't say i like to change my life to often, but I wish i would have just stayed in school. GOOD LUCK!
