Anyone have a marketing degree?

Should I get a degree in French and Spanish or business?

• I feel that business is very general and it doesn't provide me with an advantage over someone who has a business or another degree. Technically speaking, a job in marketing for example can go to anyone who has a degree not just business. So would a degree in languages be better to have? I will have the advantage of being bilingual (or trilingual if there's such a thing) over others. Like a bachelor degree I heard doesn't get you anything nowadays, so I'm thinking becoming bilingual would be better. Also I'm deciding to combine Political Science with the languages because it may be useful in landing a job in the government When I mean a business degree I mean everything but accounting and finance like marketing, business law, international business, entrepreneurship in business... Just want to hear your suggestions

  I think a degree in business would be very applicable to many different fields. There's no reason you couldn't combine a business major with a major or minor in a foreign language. If you were to major in international business, adding a language component would not only be easy, it would probably be necessary. I don't think majoring in political science increases your chances of landing a government job anymore than a major in diplomacy, international relations, international studies, or any other BA increases your chances. You're also right in that you don't have to major in business to work in business. Being bilingual is nice, but unless you spend time abroad while working on your language major or minor, you're not going to get the cultural context that comes with fluency. You may not even become fluent. It's all relative, which is most people will tell you to just major in something you love.
