What must I do to get into UCLA?

What Should I Do In High School To Get Into UCLA?

• See I've been deciding what extra curricular activites I should be taking in my high school year, and what I'm interested in. However there's a lot I want to do, and I want your opinion on which one I should do. The ones I want to do are: -Tennis (Which is a sport, and it's in the spring, which is good, so then I won't be so busy, however I would need to take lessons, because I'm not very good, and the lessons are about $65 per hour) -Beta (I don't really know what they do, but I know they do volunteer work) -Drama (I will be doing the plays, and I love to act, however the rehearsals are everyday, if I make the play, and there's 4 per year) -Debate (Now this one will be a class, and I it will let me take 1 less AP class, but it shows leadership, and it helps on debating) -FBLA (They do volunteer work, and what not, but being in this club means I have to put money into it too) -SGA(I want to be rep, vice-president, or president, but if I don't win the election, then I won't get in, and I actually really want to do this one, but I will need help on the election, and also this is a class too, and SGA is a very busy club) -Spanish Club (It will look good on the application, plus I'll be taking Spanish 1 in sophmore year) -Yearbook (Yearbook is fun, and I would like to do it sophmore to senior year, however this is also a class) -NHS (Of course this is like a MUST!) -Academic Games (Looks good on application) -Safe School Ambassadors (Something I'm good at, will look good on application, however I don't even know if the school has this anymore =/) -AP classes. I know I want to take AP Psychology, AP Anatomy, AP English, and AP English. Maybe AP Calculas, but math is my worst subject, and I'm thinking of taking Algebra 2 in the summer. I don't know yet. Right now I only have Regular Geometry. My ONLY regular class. xP -I HAVE to take Spanish 1 & 2 to graduate. -Interact Club is just another club that do various community service. -I also really want to volunteer at the hospital. What should I do?! xP

  It's UCLA...not Yale. As long as you meet the requirements for classes (like Spanish and math), GPA and/or SAT scores, you will get in. In a school like UCLA it doesn't really matter what extra cirricular activities you do (like yearbook). Again...it is not an Ivy Leauge, or private school. It's just a UC school...no different than a "state" school, like Cal State, (except in cost). Personally, I don't know why you would want to go to UCLA if you live in FLA. It costs ALOT to go there if you are an out of state student. Your ethnicity will not help you get into a school, but it does play a big role in getting scholarships. UCLA has a lot of asian students, so maybe they offer alot of scholarships to 'minority' students. There are lots of good schools in Florida that you can go to that do not cost so much. Good luck!
