What do you need to take to be a nurse in US?

What classes do i need to take in college if i want to be a nurse practitioner?

  • im gonna major in nursing to be a nurse practitioner and im just wondering what kind of classes i will be required to take in college.

  • Answer:

For a more specific answer, you should look at the program requirements for the schools that you are interested to gain a general impression of the classes that you will need. To be a nursing practitioner, you need to first have a bachelor's degree in nursing since an Adult Nurse Practitioner program is a Masters of Science. You will probably also need to have your license at the time of your application as well as having gained some experience as a nurse (usually 2 years). The bachelor's degree will include courses in math, bio, chemistry and physics to name a few. It seems like quite a challenge but it's not an impossible goal and I commend you on considering this as your career goal.
