Get a sociology or psychology degree for optometry school?

• i want to know which of these is the easiest. i want to go to optometry school, but over half of the classes in the biology curriculum are not required for optometry school so i planned to major in an easier major and take my optometry pre-requisites as electives. psychology seems more interesting, but sociology seems easier, which one would be a better pick?

  Even though you take alot of extra classes in the biology major curriculum, alot of those classes teach you things that you will be needing once in optometry school such as biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, organic chemistry, pharmacology etc. I think it is better to stick with a biology major than to go into antropology or psychology as you will be taking alot more classes that are unnecessary and won't be utilized once in optometry school and in practice. Aside from that, the prereqs for optometry school are usually the harder ones out of the classes taken as a bio major, so without the background from classes as a bio major it may be more difficult for you to take the prereqs as electives as they will seem more foreign to you. Also keep in mind that optometry is very biology and physics emphasized, so dodging a major in biology because of excess biology classes may not be a good idea. If you are going to choose between sociology or pscyhology, I would choose psychology as it will be more useful when dealing with patients than sociology.
