SAT SCORES, SEND TO COLLEGE?

Does it make a difference in my college application if I send in my SAT scores later?

  • I'm planning on taking the Subject test on December, and I was wondering if sending my scores in later would have any affect on my application. I am aware that schools like USC require three subject tests, and I wanted to know if not sending them in would have an impact on my application? Also, I wanted to know when colleges normally start reviewing applications. Thank you in advance!

  • Answer:

No college will review your application without the scores. They will accept it, but they won't review it until you have sent in the scores, so they will make offers to other students before you if they have turned all of their information in already. Some schools accept applications as early as June the year before you're applying but most begin in September. Check with the university you're applying to, to find out their dates because every school differs.

They start reviewing them as soon as they start arriving, which is now. It is ok to send in the subject tests later, but you need to go ahead and send in the first part of the SAT now. Your plan shouldn't adversely impact your application except that you will probably miss the cut-off for early notification. Good luck & God bless.
