Will my school send out my transcript?

I applied for college, do I have to send my high school transcript?

  • I figure the college would request it from my high school and they will send it to them. If I'm wrong what do I have to do?

  • Answer:

Colleges don't request transcripts from High schools. You have you have your transcripts sent to the college. Some colleges have a transcript request form that you can get from the college in which you plan on applying to. You get the form, fill it out and send it to your high school or take it to your school and they then send the transcript(s) to the college.

NO, you have to request your high school registrar to send your transcripts to the colleges you're applying to. Colleges will not treat you special. Application officers would no go through the trouble of phoning your high school for your grades. if ur a senior, it's too late now. Nothing you can do about it.

You need to contact your high school directly and tell them you wish to send your transcripts and where you want them sent. The college will not ask for you, they don't have the time. It's all your responsibility that the documents necessary for admissions gets sent to them, they will not lift a finger to do it themselves because they have thousands of applicants to deal with.

Your counselor should send that soon after they get the list of the schools you're applying to. If you're unsure if they have, then go straight to your counselor and ask.

At my hs i had to tell my guidence counselor to send it and give her the recomendations to send too.

If you didn't list the college on the SAT form, YOU have to request that your high school send the transcript to the colleges you are applying to. I just looked at some of the other answers, and realized the difference had to do with the degree of involvement in the application process of your high school counselor. Mine only met with me once to ask if I had plans. When I said that I did, she let me go and was not involved in the process beyond that. At other schools, counselors seem to play a much greater role. You may want to talk to your counselor to find out how your school handles it.

They usually request it from your guidance counsellor/advisor. So go talk to them. Or call the school and double check
