Do I have a learning disability in Math?

I have a math based learning disability! Getting accepted to universities, exemption?

• I have a severe diagnosed math learning disability; I was diagnosed at a young age. Going through school with a math based learning disability was an utter struggle for me. I would try my hardest in class and still fail. The only time math became somewhat doable for me was when I entered grade 10 and I was put in essentials math (the easier math opposed to Principles math, sadly essentials math is not accepted at most Canadian universities.) I passed essentials math 10 with a 60, the best mark I had ever gotten in math. Then grade 11 came around; I did grade 11 essentials math, passed that as well. I am into grade 12 next year, I am taking 4 university approved classes, enough to get me into university. I know I will excel in those classes, but my chance of getting into university is pretty much shattered due to not meeting the requirements of the math needed. I have always dreamed of going off to university and knowing that I will not be accepted due to my math disability hurts me. So, I am going to do more tests in hopes that maybe I can get an exemption? Is that possible that if I get a math exemption universities will accept me? I want to go into history/political science. I need to talk to my school counsellor once school starts up again, but any info. now would be greatly appreciated.

  I think you just need to find a better math tutor. Not being good at math is not a goddamned disability.
