Why won't my ipod connect to my wifi network at home ?

okay i've never had this problem before and now all of a sudden my ipod wont connect to my wifi network. It tells me that its unable to connect to this netowrk and when I reset my network settings absolutely nothing happens ! even when my ipod is unlocked. can someone step by step please tell me whats wrong and what to do ?

Answer:
I think your wifi network has security and is password protected. You need to talk to the administrator, (dad or whoever set up network) and get the password.
