How to use video capture card?

Can I Use an Elgato Video Capture Card on an HD TV?

  • I have an Elgato Video Capture card, and I know that it's only supposed to work on low-definition (480p) televisions. I want to play on my flat screen plasma TV while recording, and I can do that, but the TV will not show up what's happening on my Xbox. I would have to watch what's happening through the program on my computer which is laggy and the screen is very small. I have 3 splitters and a set of double sided A/V cables. Is there a way I can set up my HD tv to play what's in my Xbox, while recording in my computer at the same time? I don't want to record in HD, I just want to be able to play on the flatscreen while recording at the same time.

  • Answer:

yes ,you can ys the video capture card on your TV, but I haven't used the Elgato V, I just got a TBS video caputer card of 5980, it can watch and record the HDTV channels at the same time. The signal is well received and the picture is fine.I bought from this oversea online store.it is good. http://www.buydvb.net/tbs-5980-usb-dvb-s2-tv-qbox-ci_p25.html
