IPod Touch headphone jack issue?

Ipod jack help please?!?

  • For starters I have the 2nd generation Ipod touch, and my warranty is outdated. Now to the question, my ipod works when the headphones aren't plugged in just fine, and works on the docking system. But when i plug in headphones it doesn't work, at first only one headphone wouldn't work (right ear) but after i twisted the cord at thte jack base it'd work. However, earlier today it completely quit working again, I thought maybe the jack on my Ipod was ruined...but if so then how can it connect perfectly & play when the jack from the docking station is plugged into it? Sorry for the long question, and for how confusing it may be.I just want to know what i need to do to get it back to working, and what's the issue. I'm just a little freaked out right now! Thanks in advance! <3
