Any alarm clocks for PC?

Why did both my alarm clocks suddenly not work as if they weren't plugged in, even though they were?

  • I have two alarm clocks, and two outlets in the wall next to eachother. I plugged both alarm clocks into these outlets a couple of months ago. then, a few days ago both alarm clocks were completely shut off, not working as if they weren't being powered by being plugged into the wall. SO after a couple days of not working, I unplugged the alarm clocks in fear of there being a fire or getting shocked or something. On the day that they went off, there was good weather. the lights in my house didn't go off. they didn't even flicker just a little bit. So what can be the cause of my alarm clocks acting like this? I haven't plugged them in yet, and if I do and they don't work, then what can I do with them? One is a new SONY that I got new a couple of months ago, and the other is an old GE that is several or more years old and has barely ever been used.

  • Answer:

Very odd occurrence. Only two things make sense to me: Either the outlets aren't making good contact with the plugs, or there is an intermittent connection of one or more of the wires feeding the outlets. Have an electrician inspect for these possible problems. Pulling the plugs and reinserting them could have caused a bad connection to "improve", which is OK for low-power things like alarm clocks, but not for anything that pulls a lot of current (heaters, etc.).

My only explanation is that you somehow shorted out the circuit
