Is there a VGA cable adaptor?

DVI to VGA adaptor/cable?

  • i bought an ATI radeon 5450 graphics card but when i tried to connect my monitor i found out the card i bought only has dvi and hdmi ports and my monitor has VGA ports(the card actually has VGA but not the one i got) . so i decided to get a DVI to VGA adaptor/cable. will using it affect my graphics card performance.

  • Answer:

Marginally. Tests might show some DAC noise/anomalies, which are non existant using digital (DVI-D/HDMI). In practical use, you may not notice. If you thing you might be bothered, get a a digital monitor, and use the VGA as a second, which is what I did for a while.

No. It will not affect performance. Other models have DVI to VGA adapter in box. The company itself gives it in box. You can buy one for Rs. 80-90 if you don't have. It is safe to use.
