How common is a pale optic disc?

How to get my disc to work?

  • I have a DVD-RW disc that has some video footage on it and when I place it in my computer or dvd player it recognizes that theres 1 Hour of video footage on it. So when I press play or inster the disc into my computer and start it, it will start for 2 seconds and then stop... The disc does have about 7 very minor scratches on it and its only about 6 months old. Can anyone help me get my disc working, or is there any way I can extract the files from the disc?(When I try to copy and paste the files it always says "cant read from scource file or disc")

  • Answer:

The scratches may look "minor", but could easily be bad enough to prevent the disc from playing. Have the disc polished at a store that uses a machine. I recently paid $1.98 per disc to have 3 DVD's polished; they came out like new and play perfectly.
