Blue ray player question?

I have a question regarding HDMI connections that I have for a DVD Player and Blu Ray Player?

  • I have a Sony Bravia 32 inch TV and to the TV i have a Blu Ray Player and DVD Player connected through HDMI cables. Of course the Blu Ray movies look great. However, when I watch a DVD movie on the Blu Ray Player I notice a huge difference in picture quality. When I watch the same DVD movie on the DVD Player I don't notice any difference in quality at all. The DVD Player has an HDMI slot in the back so why is there not much of a difference in the picture quality?

  • Answer:

Blu Ray will up-convert dvd movies to high def standards.....and maybe if the tv and player is the same brand it uses special technology to make the videos look better.

"However, when I watch a DVD movie on the Blu Ray Player I notice a huge difference in picture quality." Big difference compared to what? The Blu-Ray disc? A blu-ray will always look better than a DVD by a longshot. "When I watch the same DVD movie on the DVD Player I don't notice any difference in quality at all" Again, compared to what? Playing the same DVD on the Blu-Ray player? Not sure what you are asking in your question.
