Which is better: DISH Network or DirectTV?

Can I use a Dish Network Dish and a DirectTV Reciever together?

  • I have just purchased a used rv that came with a Dish Network Dish. I have Direct TV service at home. Can I use one of my DirectTV home receivers in my rv with the Dish Network Dish? Do I need to contact Direct TV to program the receiver at all to the other dish? If anyone could help with step by step instructions that would be great. Just called Direct TV and they said they are not compatible and of course want to sell me a new dish for service in the rv.

  • Answer:

No. They can not be used together and this is a case where they know what they are talking about. You will at the very least have to buy the same antenna antenna and hardware you use at home. This is a good source and they can probably help with details on what you are wanting to do and its feasibility. http://www.solidsignal.com/p/?p=2709&d=directv-dish-antenna-types&mc=02

Nope. The LNBs on the dish work at different frequencies.
