Does recharging batteries take longer the first time?

How do i know when my rechargeable batteries are charged?

• I use "Energizer Recharge" batteries and I even have the energizer charger. Since this is my first time using them, I'm not sure how I will know when they have finished recharging. The lights turn on when they the batteries are charging, so will the lights turn off when the batteries are fully charged or what? I really don't wanna risk overcharge, Help pls?

• Answer:

  Read the directions for the charger. I think that they blink fast foe an unchargeable battery, slow when charging, solid when charged, dark with no battery instaled, or poor contact. In any case, the charger will stop charging on its own.
