Is there a dual dvd player where you can play bluray and regular dvds?

Why doesnt any sony bluray or reg sony dvd player play divx dvds?

i downloaded a movie burnt it to dvd and it will not work on sony blu ray dvd or any sony dvd player at all. i always have to convert it using convert xtodvd program but when i put the divx burned dvd movie in a samsung or pioneer it works no problem, yyyyyyy. im trying to save myself an xtra step in converrting, yes i have latest firmware for sony so sum1 please help

I think it is a problem with the format, and the machine may not support it.
