Can I use the Happauge HD PVR with an HDMI and VGA only output monitor?
-
I bought this monitor because it was the cheapest and had amazing specs but then i realized that my idea of recording my gameplay on the monitor became much more difficult because the happauge hd pvr doesnt work out hdmi inputs and the black magic intensity shuttle requires a usb 3.0 which i dont have either. so if theres a way i can play through hdmi or vga(and record hd) then that would be great if u can tell me how i can do this.

Answer:
Use the Avermedia device similar to the Hauppauge HD-1212 (not sure of the Avermedia model number), but it has HDMI out. The only way I know how to record non-protected HDMI iw with a Black Magic PCI-E card. Otherwise you have to record component, or composite/S-video.
