When is the next gen ipod touch coming out?

I have $600 to spend but I am not sure whether I want to buy the ipod touch or wait until the next gen comes out but I dont know when its released? Also any other advice on what to get, I'm trying to get anything electronic related like ipod or a laptop/computer etc. any advice?

the next ipod touch is out they didnt give it a name but i heard it has all the same tech specs an features as the iphone 4s, but im pretty sure the ipad 3 will be coming out the spring or summer i would wait
