How do you set in a universal remote?

How do you set a universal remote control to set the volume and the cable?

• I guess some universal remote controls are different, the one I have well I don't feel like explaining how it works, I don't know where to began :/ anyways.. do all universal remote controls allow you to set both the cable and volume? how do I set the volume? please help

  If you mean set the channel from a cable box and volume on the TV, not all do, but many might be hard pogrammed to do that. If they aren;t ,there is no universal way to do it; each brad or even model of remote may be different.
