S-Video Cable Question?

Question on splitting cable?

  • I'm about to get digital cable installed and internet .. I understand that there is an "IN" that gets connected from the cable outside. So normally would the two "OUT" be 1 for the internet and one for the cable to the box? Or would both go to just one split and have the other unused? Also, if I am to split the cable to two other rooms, that would be 4 "OUTS" total ... should I have 1 out for internet and 3 for cable ... OR should I have 1 out for cable, and then get an additional splitter (that would connect to the original second out) then those 3 would go to the cable? Basically, should I but one 4-way splitter to connect the internet and 3 cables .. or have the internet with an additional 3-way split for cable? I want to know if what I do would work? TY

  • Answer:

first split the signal with a quality splitter and run one to the computer, the other can go to an amplifer before the tvs. you dont want to send the computers signal through an amplifier though because noise created inside the amp, such as intermodulation distortion can effect the computer.
