Why is it so hard to convert a VHS to DVD perfectly?

How to convert vhs to dvd (more in description!!)?

  • I have a vhs and dvd player by "Z". Its about two years old and it allows recording, dvd and vhs playing and transfering vhs' to dvds. Ive tried to convert a few vhs' to dvds but it always says "copyright". is there any way that I can get past the copyright and just convert it? Someone told me that I should cover up the barcode with tape (on the vhs tape) but it didnt seem to work. Please help!? thanks

  • Answer:

"Someone told me that I should cover up the barcode with tape" The copy protection (macrovision) is encoded on the video tape and the player/recorder you have reads it from the tape not allowing it to be copied, you would be better off just buying the DVD version as finding a hack for the copy protection will cost the same or more as buying a several DVDs.
