What is the best e-reader for me?

  • I am in the market for an e-reader and I don't know much about them. I'm looking for something I can read my books on for an extended period time, listen to music while reading, being able to read magazines, newspapers, possibly get my college textbooks on, play some games, have a way to check e-mail and view pdf documents for sheet music etc. I'd prefer if it had the e-ink feature because I like that over the lcd for reading anywhere I want. I don't want anything too expensive either. I have a budget of around $100.

    Get the kindle, I have been looking into this too. The kindles are by far the best e-readers on the market, but you'll have to download an ebook management program like Calibre to convert your pdfs/other formats into the kindle format. I'm not sure about if it's cabable of checking email, perhaps you'd be better off looking at a tablet computer if you wanted that? Also, if you're in the hunt for free ebooks, then epubbud.com is a good place to look around. It has a few small time publishers who have written several good works. Again, if you have a kindle you'll need to convert the epub files into another format using Calibre.

there is a new device out using paper pulp and black ink on the surface. they are stacked in a pile and fixed by a cover on the left side. the good thing is that they dont need power and wont break down and you can exchange them for others or just borrow one from a large office filled with all sorts of these sort of things. you can take them anywhere and they work in sunshine or low light too.
