Which batteries to use/what do do with my laser pointer?

My laser point goes really bright right after being turned on, no matter how often it is turned on. But after a second it goes dim and stays there. i am using AAA duracells. should i use a different battery or maybe mod the laser?

The bright flash is due to current inrush, and is commonly seen with LEDs. If the pointer isn't as bright (when using fresh batteries) as it was originally, the LED or some other part may be going bad. Unless it's an expensive and serviceable model (not likely), the only remedy would be to replace the pointer. Never modify or try to modify any laser device in any way whatsoever.

Not the problem from battery. It was the laser has cheap design without using large enough heat sink,or even over power it with exceed voltage to make it looks brighter.
