Is there an IF remote available for Direct tv?

My Direct TV remote won't work unless it's an inch away from the receiver!?

  • We had recently bought a new LCD HD TV. We set up everything as it should be, the Direct TV remote does work but now it only works if it's 2 inches away from the receiver. Some suggest to turn off all the light and I did. I wiped off the receiver circle in the front and on the remote. I also changed the batteries to fresh new ones. With my old TV this was never a problem but now it's getting really frustrating. Also we noticed that with the new TV we can't change the volume using the Direct TV remote (unlike our older TV) so what's up with that? Answers are appreciated and thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

    It could be a factory defect. If you bought it recently, there should be a warranty. Take it back to the shop where you bought it, and they will fix it for free. They are legally obliged to do that. Hope this helps!

I have no idea what Jahn Fax is on about, but anyway.... This "Direct TV" remote... is that the original remote the TV came with? If so, then report the problem to where ever you bought the TV from. If new batteries did not help and you don't have chewing gum stuck on the infrared windows interfering with the signal, then there is something wrong with either the TV itself (hope not!), or just the remote.

if the Remote & tv are out of guarantee period,then ask any technician to change the LED of the remote as it is possible that the emission ability goes down many time and the range of emission falls down.be sure about remote is the same supplied with tv.after failure of this attempt contact tv manufacturer......
