How do I fix my PSP joystick?

How can I fix a water damaged PSP?

  • tl;dr: My PSP got wet and the buttons only work on Recovery Menu So, I left my PSP sitting on my shelf next to my speakers, as I had music playing, and went to bed with my window opened. It rained, and rain blew in through the window and got into the PSP. I noticed after I turned it on and the buttons started acting crazy, so I tried letting it dry, and then the buttons wouldn't work after that. However, on the Recovery Menu, the buttons work fine. I tried running Hellcat's, but my PSP freezes when I load that. I also tried doing a pandora method, still freezes once it hits the screen for entering languages and all. It still has 5.50 GEN D3 (I believe). I'm thinking that the parts which send the button signals was ruined when I turned the system on; I think the electricity made them oxidize faster. But they work on Recovery Menu, which confuses me. My friend said she would give me her old PSP 3000 with a pin missing for the screen (she messed up when replacing the screen, so it's junked) for parts. Would the parts I need be comparable? Or would a simple bios edit fix this? I have all of my PSP flash memory backed up on my computer. Thanks

Okay, think about this for a second. Do you really think that rain would cause the SOFTWARE on your BIOS chip to be corrupted? No, it doesn't work that way. Your mobo is toast. PSPs are piss cheap, just don't get a 3000 or a GO. EVER, i'm serious about this one. Stick your old on in the microwave and set it for >9000 minutes. Do it for the lulz.
