A charger using 180w +to a car battery+to inverter at 5000w output --will this work?
-
am doing an experiment for my son which is a charger input 240vAC/180w connected to a 12Vcar battery then connected to an 12v DC inverter with output of 240vAC/5000w --will this work? thank you for early answer.

Answer:
If you run the 5000W inverter while the charger is operating, you will risk burning out the charger. There are ways to avoid this -- the simplest method is to use a 15Amp automobile fuse in-line between the charger and the battery. If you find that you are burning out too many fuses, then the next best thing is to disconnect the charger while the inverter is running. .
