• I had put up a previous post on what Camcorders &/or Webcams to purchase. However, I'm still unclear about each. So, my question(s) are: 1) What are the Differences betw. a Camcorder & Webcam? 2) What are the purposes of each one (What is each 1 used for?) Please be specific only b/c I'm just learning Camcorders 101 & Webcams 101. My 2nd Camcorder/Webcam Topic is an Example: I'm planning to go on a trip to Dallas, TX from NYC (La Guardia) & like some of the plane lovers on YouTube I want to Video ("tape") my flight going over different sections of Queens, NJ, etc. Someone informed me that I won't be able to video a little bit B/F Take Off & a little bit in Landing (b/c of FAA regulations) & that it also depends on the Airline (a Flight Attendant Might ask me to turn it off.). But this is another story within itself (Videoing Your Flight). Anyway, please check out some of these Videos on YouTube: a) "LANDING AT LAGUARDIA AIRPORT" b) "LANDING @ NEW YORK LAGUARDIA AIRPORT (LGA/KLGA) 2009-06 c) "AMAZING TAKEOFF @ NEW YORK LAGUARDIA NY" 4) What are these people using "Camcorders" or "Webcams"? Please let me know. Tho' I'm gonna use it for other things (Music Festivals, Bands playing in Rock Clubs, etc.). I'm open to any helpful information.

  A webcam specifically is a sort of camera which connects to your cmputer, which you can capture live video with the camera, usually for transmission on the "web" in chat clients, and such. A Camcorder is a standalone camera that records video to local storage media, for later playback or conversion/upload to the web. Some can be used as a live camcorder, directly or with a video capture device.
