My dvd player wont work?

Why a burned dvd-r wont work in a dvd player?

  • I just bought some blank dvd roms so that I could burn some videos onto them. I burned some videos onto 2 discs off of itunes but when I put them in the dvd player to watch them it wont work I can only watch them when they are in the computer. I googled it and it says that I have to finalize the dvd... but how do you finalize a dvd off of itunes? are there any other reasons why it wont work?

  • Answer:

if you are just copying and pasting the video files to disc the dvd is not recognizing the file type, some can some cant- if you use a program (such as nero or pinnacle studio)to make the disc for you one of the options would be ,dvd player disc and it allows you to create indexes and the like just like a real dvd disk and it will do all the finalizing for you. Can recommend both programs for making DVDs but never used itunes video files - you might need to find a converter for the apple file type. Before going really nuts making DVDs check that your player is able to read the disc in the first place Try a known good one first - not all players can read all types of disc. If you finalize the disc you can not write anything else to it ever again
