How do i record from tv to a vhs?

How do I record a tv show with my vcr onto a vhs???? PLEASE HELP I NEED TO KNOW IN AT LEAST 4 HOURS?

  • I tried recording a tv show onto a vhs for my first time just now, I put in a vhs, turned the channel i wanted to record on ( both on the vcr and tv), and I pressed record. But whatever I record over on the vhs just says "no signal" on my tv =[ What am I supposed to do? and How do I record correctly?? p.s. I have a symphonic (that's what brand it is) vcr p.s.s. I really want to record a show at 7 o' clock tonight, so please answer soon =[

  • Answer:

The connection goes like this. From the cable or antenna to the IN on the vcr then OUT from the vcr to the connector on the tv. That said, now turn your vcr on and set your tv to either channel 3 or 4. The tv/vcr button needs to be set to vcr. Be sure to run the setup in the vcr menu to set all the channels and the time. If your vcr has a built in tuner you should be able to change channels with its remote. Be sure your recording speed is set to SLP and hit record. That speed allows up to 8 hours recording time. SP does about 4 hours. Some have a mid speed that'll do around 6 hours. Depends on the length of the tape too.

Put your TV on the channel or input you use for watching videotapes. Tune the VCR to the channel you want to watch. Make sure you can see that channel's live video right now. Set the clock, and the time and channel for the program, minding AM/PM. You might have to 'turn off' the VCR for the timer to work. ...or if you have a cable box and the VCR is between the TV and cable box: Put the TV on the channel for watching videotapes. Put the VCR on the channel for watching the cable box. Tune the cable box to the channel you want. Make sure you can see live video. Set the VCR's clock, set the timer to the future and (important!) set the channel to the watch-the-cable-box channel, 3 or 4. Turn the VCR 'off' and leave the cable box alone from now until the recording starts. Naturally, if you're going to be around, you can just make sure you can see the channel and hit 'record' when the time comes.

First, make sure you have the cable/satelite coax plugged into the vcr input plug. Next, run a coax cable from the output plug on the back of vcr to the t.v. cable input. Set switch on back of vcr to ch. 3.Set t.v. to channel 3 also. Now turn vcr and t.v. on. Only use vcr channel changer. Plug vhs tape in and record. Only use t.v. controls for volume.
