I'm a non first time homebuyer, closing on nov20. Do i qualify for new tax credit for non first-timers?

the prez will sign on 11/6. Is it effective immediately, or tied to the extension of the first-time homebuyers credit that was to expire on november 30 which will make it effective 12/1 ?

Answer:
If you have owned a house in the past 3 years then you will not qualify no matter what. Otherwise I think you'll be safe since the deadline is still Nov 30th.

I haven't seen the details, but you might want to try to push your closing back. Most likely it just starts Dec 1 rather than immediately.
