How do i find a good job?

How can I move out of the Bronx, find a good job, and looked for a good Art School in New York?

  • Hi, I'm 16 and soon I am going to have to shape up my future. I live in the projects in the Bronx and I hate it. My mom is a single parent and she tries very hard to maintain a home and food. I'm about to be a senior in high school in September. After that I'm going to go to college. But living in this area holds me back from having a job because the people here are violent. I got beat up once on my neighborhood when I was on my way to the train station to go to school and my sister got into a fight with almost ten girls because they were starting trouble. I am an A student in school but I'm super shy and nervous. In school nobody ever bothered me but I hate where I live. I want a job and a good life. Also I want to know what is a safe and affordable place to live in New York City. And I was looking forward to go to the arts institute but I heard it's expensive, but I want to persue a career in video games designing like level designing. I want to work in a big video game company like EPIC games, Activision, ect. But first I need to be In a safer place, not the projects where I see crimes, hear gunshots, and hear fights. Any help is appreciated and sorry for any grammar problems, it's cause I'm typing in the iPod touch.

Cut me a break. Both of us born and raised in the Bronx, managed to be Educated, find great jobs and prosper. You are held back by your own lack of confidence in your abilities. Your mom is a hero. Single, yet has managed to house and feed you, provide you with a stable life and see that you excel. Use it, go to college outside the city, stay in the dorms and learn there are many opportunities offered to you. Look at scholarships and grants. You cannot afford Manhattan but 99% of the USA population cannot either.
