thats easy you call and ask to see the inside of the house. most likely they will set up an appointment and meet you at the house. obviously if they have the keys and they meet you there then the house is really for rent.

There is no one "number" that you can call that will tell you if ALL houses for rent in LA are legit or not. I have never heard of that type of scam before. If it does exist, it is probably EXTREMELY rare to the point that you are more likely to hit the lotto than be scammed.
