What forms are needed from my guarantor for a NYC apartment?
-
I'm going to be living in NYC next year and will be flying out in July to look for an apartment. I'll be a student, so I need to have a guarantor (parent) co-sign my lease. I want to get all the necessary paperwork together before I leave so I don't have to have my dad fax everything over while I'm there. Does anyone know what paperwork they need (tax forms, etc)? I know each landlord is different, but where could I find a list of the typical documents? Thanks!

Answer:
Their tax returns, pay stubs and bank name.

if you are age 18, you will need nothing but either a good credit score or a deposit. NEVER ask anyone to co-sign for you. it is insulting to you and them
